UBL chief says Middle East tensions made FY26 tough for beer industry
India's beer industry faced a difficult operating environment in FY26, chiefly due to escalating Middle East tensions, said Vivek Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of United Breweries Ltd. In the company's annual report filed with the BSE on Monday, Gupta cited global supply-chain volatility, can shortages, and higher energy and packaging costs that raised input prices and deepened uncertainty.
