Court pauses Paramount's $110 billion Warner Bros. merger on antitrust concerns

A US federal judge paused Paramount Skydance's $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery for two weeks on Monday, ruling it likely breaches antitrust law. Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín will hold an August hearing in Oakland on freezing the merger pending trial. Twelve states, including California, seek an April trial. If closing slips past September, Paramount owes $7 million daily, topping $1 billion.
